What to Expect

You will be greeted at the door by a friendly face and directed to the sanctuary (adults and teens) and/or KidVenture building (children).  During the service, we ask that you complete a Connection Card with your name and address so we have a record of your visit and will know how to better serve you.  This card can be found in the worship folder that you will receive as you enter the building.  You are also invited to stop by the Welcome table for a Guest’s Gift at the end of the service.  You will see people dressed in a wide range of attire from jeans to dress clothes.  We want everyone to feel at home.

We believe that even community worship is personal.  Sometimes this means a person will clap, raise a hand, stand up, sit down, or just be still.  We whole-heartedly believe that worship is a conversation between you and God, and is as individual as we are.

Each Sunday at the beginning of the service, we spend 2-3 minutes greeting the folks sitting near us.  This is an opportunity for us to carry out our mission of treating guests like family and family like guests.

We offer traditional Christian Education classes on Sunday mornings between 10:15-11:00, and a variety of small groups and study session throughout the week.  Many members participate in worship during one hour and a Christian Education class the other hour.  Whether you are new to the faith or someone with many Bible classes under your belt, there is a class perfect for you.  In addition to topical Bible classes, there are classes geared to different age groups such as middle school students, young adults, and mature adults.  Stop by the Welcome table, view a foyer display, or check the weekly bulletin for a current list of Bible classes offered.

The Churches of Christ in Christian Union, the denomination to which Brookside belongs, is a Protestant Christian church.  We believe that God calls Christians to a life of holy living.  We believe that God cleanses the heart and fills an individual with love for God and humankind.  This experience, sometimes called sanctification, is marked by entire consecration of the believer to do God’s will and is followed by a life of seeking to serve God through service to others.

There are two places where you will find people waiting to assist you with any questions during your visit.  These are our Welcome Tables, located in the foyer of the main sanctuary and in the Red Room connecting the KidVenture building and the Church.   And while you’re there, pick up a special guest packet and gift!
